President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey on May 9. A White House spokeswoman said “the rank and file of the FBI had lost confidence” in Comey.

The White House released a statement said of the decision to fire Comey, “President Trump acted based on the clear recommendations of both Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.”

It is suspicious that President Trump fired Comey because during the election he had been investigating Hillary Clinton’s emails and at the time Trump thought that he was doing a good job.

But now since there has been talk about Russia interfering with the election Trump thinks that Comey is not doing his job right. The U.S relationship with Russia is important because we may infer that the presidential election has been hacked or somehow Russia has gotten control over the votes. The reasoning that the White House gives is not enough to convince me or I do not think anyone to be just confirmed with this information.

But the last thing that Comey planned on doing as Director of the FBI was investigating more into the potential Russia interference with the presidential election. May Trump be hiding something? Was he afraid that Comey could uncover something that Trump maybe had something to do with Russia?

It was wrong for President Trump to fire the FBI Director. It is a very important step especially being in control of the FBI. And for Trump firing someone important over potential personal business does not make Trump seem professional. This would make Trump seem that he wanted the investigation to stop or hurt the investigation and this would even be considered “obstruction of justice.”

Although some may support President Trump and his decision, it doesn’t seem right. Trump could have warned Comey to watch what he was doing or how Comey was handling the investigation. But also when Comey found out he was fired, he was in a meeting in California and saw over the television. So in the way that the White House told the press before the person who was losing their job. And makes it seem wrong and kind of disrespectful and unprofessional and makes it seem like they wanted to humiliate him.
