The Haynes Girls Varsity Soccer team has had four games this season. They have won two of those games, one game was a tie, and they lost one.

One game was on the last week of August and the other two games were in the past weeks of September and the fourth game was last Saturday. Some of the games were home games and others were not. As the girls continue their great start, they still are trying their hardest to make their record better than what it already is.

Their first game was with Eastern High School and the score was a tie, 1-1. The second game was with Tech High School the score was 1-0. This was the first game that Haynes girl’s won. The third game was with Roosevelt High School the score was a tie, so they went into penalties and the score for that was 4-1.

The fourth game was with Washington Latin and Haynes lost this game. The score was 0-4.

After losing the game with Latin,“ It wasn’t that bad because we played good, but we could have done better and many of our teammates were not there, so it was hard without the people that weren’t there” said Yesly Mejia a junior in the team.

“ I felt bad but at the same time we realized the things that we have to work on to get better as a team and losing this game helped me realize how we have been playing” said Basny Lopez a junior in the team. Even though they lost their game, as athletes, the players recognized what they did right and wrong.
