Who will win the 2018 World Cup (By top FIFA Rankings)

The teams are set to compete in 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Thirty two teams have qualified, with Peru becoming the final team to be in the World Cup. The first qualifiers for the World Cup took place in March 2015. 209 matches have been played over the last 31 months.

“You never know what to predict for this year’s World Cup judging by the qualifiers,” said Brayan Ramos, a 10th grader on the Haynes Varsity Soccer team.

Here are the official groups for the World Cup.

 

Group A: Russia, Uruguay, Egypt, Saudi Arabia

Group B: Portugal, Spain, Iran, Morocco

Group C: France, Peru, Denmark, Australia

Group D: Argentina, Croatia, Iceland, Nigeria

Group E: Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Serbia

Group F: Germany, Mexico, Sweden, South Korea

Group G: Belgium, England, Tunisia, Panama

Group H: Poland, Colombia, Senegal, Japan

“The groups are interesting the first match date for group B is going to be intense Portugal V.S. Spain it’s lit,” said Oliver Tzul Perez, a 10th grader on the boys soccer team.

“I think that Italy won’t be part of the World Cup because it has been a long time,” said Anthony Aviles, another 10th grade soccer player.

The last World Cup shocked everyone with big teams being eliminated early on.

Many expected Spain to go far in the tournament, but Holland defeated Spain in the Round of 16. And Brazil’s astonishing defeat to Germany 1-7 left the Brazilian people, the host country of the 2014 World Cup, in tears.

The World Cup kicks off on Thursday 14 June 2018. The World Cups host Russia V.S. Saudi Arabia in Luzhniki Stadium , Moscow, Russia. This year’s World Cup will be missing many big national teams such as Chile, Holland, Italy, USA, and Wales. This result was shocking for many people. For the World Cup its main sponsors is Adidas providing new uniforms for Argentina, Japan, Mexico, Belgium, Russia, Spain, Germany, and Columbia. Adidas also getting the official game ball Telstar 2018  for every match. All matches will be broadcasted across the United States on FOX Sports and Telemundo.
