Super Bowl LII the winner of the NFC East championship Philadelphia Eagles went against NFL conference winners New England Patriots. The Eagles beat the Patriots for the  Lombardi Trophy, on February 4 2018 at the U.S. Bank Stadium  Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Before the game many people were calling the Eagles “underdogs” because of their performance in the playoffs playing without their main quarterback. For the Patriots the come up to the Super Bowl was not so easy, with Tom Brady’s injured hand they managed to pull off a close game win against the Jacksonville Jaguars get to the final stage.

Predictions for the game were more towards the Patriots side because they are an experienced team with good players. The Eagles are an unpredictable team and proved in the season, playoff and super bowl what  they are capable of for the following seasons.

Super Bowl LII had just one punt, nine touchdowns, five field goals in total. The Eagles had offensive stars all over the field with runner back LeGarrette Blount rushing for 90 yards and a touchdown. The Patriots took the lead for the first time with just under 10 minutes to play as Brady and Rob Gronkowski came alive in the second half. But after the Patriots scored touchdowns on their first three possessions of the second half, the Eagles took the lead back. Later they forced a fumble on Brady with just over two minutes to play. The Patriots got ball back but Brady’s last-second Hail Mary fell incomplete and the Eagles took advantage to become champions.

“I expect to be back,” Brady said. “It’s 15 minutes after the game ended, so I would like to process this. I don’t see why I wouldn’t be back.”

Nick Foles the MVP of the game had a more positive attitude about the game.

“Don’t be afraid to fail. Failure is a part of life. It’s a part of building character and growing. Without failure, who would you be? I wouldn’t be up here if I hadn’t fallen thousands of times, made mistakes.” said Nick Foles after the match.

This game is a rematch of Super Bowl XXXIX from 13 years ago, a game in which the Patriots beat the Eagles. For the Eagles, this is their third time to the Super Bowl. Besides their Super Bowl XXXIX loss to the Patriots, the Eagles also lost to the Raiders in Super Bowl XV. Making their Super bowl record 1-2.

Back in Philadelphia fans riot celebrating the win. People flood the streets vandalizing cars by flipping them and breaking windows. Some People in the internet are buzzing about the Eagles playing  recently imprisoned Meek Mills song Dream and nightmares for their entrance promoting the #FreeMeek movement.
