  1. How long have you been a teacher at EL Haynes?  I have been a teacher at E.L. Haynes High School since July 2015. So this is my third year at E.L. Haynes.
  2. What accomplishment fills you with pride so far this year ? So this year at the being for year I set a goal to read a text or a book each month and I have been successful books so far and I’m on my fifth book right now.
  3. Five things that describe about yourself ?  I think that I am a positive person because I do not focus on the negative. I’m very productive because I like to stay busy in school and out of school that I’m a caring person. Sometimes I lose sleep and worry about my scholars and my family in California. Also, I like to think that I’m a hard worker. Even if I’m tired I am preparing food and going to exercise at the gym.  I’m a good listener because I let others talk to me about different situations.
  4. What made you become a special education teacher?    City Year with khaki pants and boots when I was doing a year of service.  I felt passionate about the activities and lesson that I was giving to students.
  5. What do you most like about your teaching career? I really love working with the group of students. They are curious minded and having alot of motivation. In addition to that I enjoy helping the community whether its at the Nursing Home and Capital Food Bank and its really good to have those experiences.
  6. What is one of your favorite moments working at E.L Haynes?   I think that my favorite moments is when I got a shout in the E.L. Haynes newsletter. I’m so proud of being recognize.  
  7. If you weren’t here where would go and why? If wasnt here I will be in Los Angeles, Calfornia.
  8. What is the hardest skills you have learned? The hardest skill I have to learn is expressing my feelings. I like to be positive and happy.  When I’m feeling bad and try not to offend other people and just use I statements.
  9. What is one of your worst moments working at Haynes?   It was really scary when you have a shelter in place or fire drill and you’re suppose to keep people calm.  This is the worse because deep down inside I am fearful too.
  10. What was your major in college education?  Global studies major at UCSB and Masters of education at Lesley University.
