R&B singer Chris Brown was arrested Tuesday February 22, 2018 in Paris on allegations of aggravated rape and drug violations. No charges have been filed against Chris Brown, the prosecutor’s office said, but the investigation is still open and ongoing.

Chris Brown had posted a statement on instagram saying “ I wanna make it perfectly clear ….. This is false and a whole lot of CAP!,” he wrote in the all-caps messa “… For my daughter and my family this is so disrespectful and is against my character and morals!!!!”

“I really don’t know if the girl was lying or not Because we don’t have evidence on it. I’m also not sure if Chris Brown would do something like this because we really don’t know what goes on inside of these stars lives,” said Kevan Anderson an 11th grader and E.L. Haynes High School. “ I feel like this whole story could have been avoided if Chris Brown would pay attention to who he is with and think before he starts drinking and doing other activities.”

Chris Brown has lots of run-ins with the law, for example he had physical assault charges after an incident with his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, ten years ago, 2009. He was charged with making criminal threats and felony assault, and for that he received community service and a five year probation.

“I wouldn’t say the girl is lying about getting raped by Chris Brown, but at the same time it’s very common that females/males make up lies about stars so they can get noticed,” said Tyrone Jordan, an E.L. Haynes High School 11th grade student. “You really wouldn’t know what Chris Brown would do because we don’t know him. He has been known for assault, and other violent incidents, so you can’t be too sure. This whole story is just a mess.  It could have been avoided on so many levels.”

“ Yes, I believe the girl is telling the truth. The only reason I believe her is because what girl would just lie about getting humiliated like that,” said Sasha Test, a DC resident in Petworth. “It takes so much strength from a woman to just get up and tell the whole world she got raped. 1 in every 5 girls do not get justice for being raped. Their rapist is still out there preying on more victims.”
